Howdy all and Happy Holidays!!

I have been very busy since the last blog and a lot has happened…here we go…

We won Davis Cup!!!!! It is still pretty surreal for me. It’s not often you accomplish a life dream and the feeling is amazing. I can only hope everyone gets to feel something like that in a lifetime. i have talked about it tons, but it was really special because our team is so special. I am lucky to have been able to spend the last seven years around these guys. Not only the players, but our staff has been amazing throughout as well so thanks to all!!!

I have been on the go since Davis Cup. I have played in a bunch of charity events and am convinced that tennis is an amazing sport. You hear so much about pro athletes being spoiled and getting arrested and that sort of thing…. unfortunately, the media chooses those stories over the good ones that are out there. So many tennis players use the little off-season they have to raise money for charitable causes of their choice. It’s a really great thing. I wish there was a way to get these kinds of things as much attention as what hot chick is wearing whose jersey at a football game and who’s pissed about it or whatever….

- I was really excited to get a chance to play some ball in Omaha, Nebraska… I was born there and have always wanted to get back there to play sometime. Everyone there made me feel so welcome… I had a blast …on a selfish note it was awesome to have coach Osborne, Eric Crouch, and Johnny Rodgers come to the exo…. I am such a huge fan of Nebraska football so to have them come out was really cool for me.

-I did have two days off and hung out in New York City… it’s really cool around the holidays. I rarely get the chance to just cruise around the city when I am there, and made a point of checking out the Christmas tree at Rockefeller center. It was great, and I am horrible for saying this, but I had more than one laugh at watching the ice skaters fall and wipe out, ha ha.

-Before I get to the awards I want to thank all of you for your support… I hope you have a great holiday season, and a memorable 2008!!!!

Butthead of the week— a couple weeks ago I read about some guy who tried to open a bank account with a million dollar bill…………………. really?????

Self chuck of the week— I also read that somewhere in Australia they banned Santa Claus from saying ho ho ho, because it was degrading to women…. come on!!! Whats next? Rabies shots for the Easter bunny? Ridiculous…primarily because the kids who are into Santa don’t even get why it would be bad to say ho ho ho…if you are against Santa being able to say ho ho ho…… wall!!!

Fine of the week— in the holiday spirit I am gonna spare Ginger this week Merry Christmas g!! ha ha
